13 years after being asked to reinvent the image of Chanel fragrances, Vanessa Paradis was been asked to reinvent the image of Chanel handbags. Chanel asked her for help with targeting the young mother market - the "yummy mummies" - by being the celebrity face of Ligne Cambon. This time, Vanessa was handpicked by designer Karl Lagerfeld. She had attended a Chanel 2003 runway show, needing an outfit or two to wear to her boyfriend's premieres. She ended up with a couple of dresses and an ad campaign than ran in both Europe and America.
